Event description

Description

Made in Yorkshire are launching ‘The Young Inventor’; an award that celebrates the creative flare of the next generation within manufacturing and engineering and presents the opportunity for colleges across Yorkshire to showcase their abilities and build relationships with local companies.

The Young Inventor is chosen through a series of panel presentations in various colleges across Yorkshire. At these events, 6-7 students from each college (16 years old upwards) have the chance to present a project they have been working on within an enrichment program that the college runs (eg Machined parts, autonomous robots, etc). These presentations are judged by a panel of around 6 manufacturing Directors who provide constructive feedback and mark the students on set criteria. A finalist from each college will then go forward to our Awards event in October next year and an overall ‘Young Inventor of the Year’ will be announced and presented with an award. Every student who participates and presents will receive a Certificate of Commendation.

Each panel takes approximately 3 hours to judge plus travel time dependent on college location.

Your participation will help to inspire the next generation!
