Do I need to be an expert in Robotics to attend this event?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not. This is a dissemination event where we aim to share  the work we have been carrying out at our centre and there is no need to already be an expert in this field!!

Do I need to have been specifically  invited to this event?

Accepted Answer

No, not at all. The event is open to everyone and we welcome members of the general public if they feel the topic is of interest to them.  However, we  do ask that you register for a ticket so that we can allow for catering etc.

Is there any charge for this event?

Accepted Answer

No, this is a free-to-attend event and lunch and refreshments are also free, provided by the Smart Cobotics Centre. However, we  do ask that you register for a ticket so that we can allow for catering etc.

Question 4

Do I need to book the workshops separately?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As we have a limited capacity for these sessions they will be offered on a first-come basis so booking is strongly advised.

Question 5

Are any of the demonstrations dangerous?

Accepted Answer

No. Our project is concerned with the safe and ethical adoption of collaborative robotics within manufacturing and the systems we will be demonstrating have been designed with this in mind. A rigorous Risk Assessment of all equipment has also been undertaken.

Question 6

Do I need to stay for the whole day?

Accepted Answer

No, you may come to see the demonstrations, speak to the researchers, attend the workshops or generally just come to see what it's all about. The event is informal so, other than registering for the purposes of Health & Safety, you are free to come and go as you please.
