People have by turns been enthralled, frustrated and moved by Contemporary Art.  Join our Guide John Ward as he explores Manchester Art Gallery's Treasure House and the strange and paradoxical universe of contrasting creations. All the featured works will have at least two things in common - the minds behind them are still working and trying to make sense of a world continually in flux, and they all appear in the recently published book, The Collection - a beautifully illustrated volume that provides a breathtaking sweep across the vast range of Manchester Art Gallery's mission and heritage.

Manchester Art Gallery has an amazing team of volunteer guides who deliver tours at the gallery usually four times a week. While we can't gather people together physically for tours at this time, the team will be delivering online sessions twice a month using Zoom. you can access zoom through a laptop, tablet or smart phone, just something that has a camera and mic. You don’t need to create an account to access the session.
