Event description

Description

Join us to celebrate the launch of our fantastic Film Issue - the Summer 2018 edition of Magma Poetry magazine, where poets take a look back through the lens at cinema and we explore the influence of one on the other, with poems, articles, and films to view online.

We are lucky to have secured a wonderful space to hold our event, the winner of the 2018 Time Out Most Loved Local Culture Spot in London, the Cinema Museum in Kennington, South East London, which houses a unique collection of artefacts, memorabilia and equipment that preserves the history and grandeur of cinema from the 1890s to the present day.

There will be screenings of selected film poem submissions plus some specially commissioned for this issue from the Festival of Creative Learning at the University of Edinburgh, and, of course, readings from our featured poets.

There will be a pay bar and Magma magazines for sale.

Doors 7pm - Readings/screenings from 7.30pm

Tickets are free, and available through Eventbrite. We have to limit the number of tickets we release so make sure to order soon.

This event will be a treat for poetry and film fans alike - we look forward to seeing you!

NB Bank branch Northern line trains are currently not stopping at Kennington Underground Station (the Charing Cross branch platform remains open)
