Maidenhead Climate Hustings, Addressing the Climate Emergency
Event Information
About this Event
Public demand for action on the climate and environment emergency has surged to unprecedented levels. For the first time ever, a majority of voters (85%) say the climate crisis is a concern for them.
The latest UN Environment Programme annual Emissions Gap Report says that even if the Paris Agreement commitments are met, temperatures are expected to rise by 3.2°C. The next 10 years are our final chance to deliver concerted global action to avoid even wider-ranging and more destructive climate impacts.
This is why community group RBWM Climate Emergency Coalition has organised a climate hustings for the constituency of Maidenhead. This climate hustings will give voters a chance to hear Maidenhead Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green party candidates explain their parties' climate plans. Audience members will be able to ask candidates directly what they and their party will do to address the Climate Emergency .
We are delighted that all four parliamentary candidates for the Maidenhead Constituency have confirmed that they can attend: Theresa May, Con; Pat McDonald, Labour; Joshua Reynolds, Lib Dem; Emily Tomalin, Green Party.
Please arrive at 6.30pm for a prompt 7pm start.
