Event description

Description

Our next patient information day is confirmed as Saturday 3rd August 2019 and will be held in Maidstone. Our key speaker will be Dr George Bird a Senior Gastroenterologist from Maidstone Hospital.

The afternoon will be a session called "What is good care in GH?" run by Dr Roseanna Brady, trustee at HUK and a practising health psychologist working with people living with long term physical health conditions.

Experiences of care from GPs, consultants, and other health professionals vary from one individual to another. There are many reasons for this, including differences in communication skills, access to care, expectations from health professionals and from patients, among many others. Roseanna will explore this from a patient perspective in order to home in on the essential ingredients of good care for people with GH.

The rest of the programme for the day is still to be confirmed but will include talks from experts and representatives from HUK as well as time to get to know and chat with other people with haemochromatosis. These events are very popular and receive consistently good feedback from attendees.

Places are limited for this event so book early to avoid disappointment.
