Event description
Closing Webinar for the online Knowledge Exchange Event

About this event

A two-part knowledge exchange series will take place on 15 October & 12 November 2020 to urgently converge on what we mean by ‘sustainable land-use’ by focusing on standardisation of environmental and social (E&S) metrics that measure positive impact. Building upon the lessons learned from the exchange event which took place on November 2019, an emerging consensus on standardised E&S practices will contribute to creating the financing environment for investable money to repurpose capital flow to sustainable practices and EU Environment Ministers to protect the ecosystems which humanity is dependent on.

The KEE has been organised to support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Directory for sustainable land-use finance. The 5 impact areas that are included in the KPI Directory Tool are: forests, biodiversity, livelihoods, climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation. The tool is being developed to standardize global best practices on the demonstration of positive Environmental & Social (E&S) impact via land-use management.

This closing webinar for the knowledge exchange series will take place on 12 November to discuss the importance of mainstreaming E&S land-use: impacts and the tool (as provided by UNEP) that can help catalyse the process.

The session will finish by providing an overview of the 5 days of workshops and the next steps moving forward.
