Early Years Music Scotland is delivering a year-long programme of free, high-quality, creative and inspiring continuous professional learning and development for musicians working with children in the early years across Scotland, supported by Creative Scotland's Youth Music Initiative.

This workshop is free-of-charge to musicians who are resident in Scotland and working with children in the early years (0-5yrs). Non-Scottish residents and non-musicians may purchase a ticket.

This workshop will be recorded and available to view for one month following the event. The recording will be sent to all ticket holders within 48 hours of the event.

This workshop will be delivered by Clea Friend. A community musician and professional cellist, Clea works with adult and children both in the UK and abroad using participant-led music sessions to improve quality of life. Her work takes her to areas of conflict such as Ukraine and Lebanon and also into special schools.

This workshop will discuss how Clea developed a project 'Recitals for Wrigglers' which is a carefully curated session including live music, songs and a story. Clea will share how her knowledge of how music affects the brain and body, together with her experience of working across the world through different cultures, influences her work with preschool children.
