About this event
This is a 2 day training course, the second day is Friday 12th November at 09.30-13:00 hrs - online course.
**Please note attendance at both sessions is mandatory to complete the course**
Previously part of the Sign Symbols Enhancement Workshop, this one day workshop is an advanced course for staff that are using Makaton every day and have established signing skills.
Aims:
• Revise the signs and symbols learnt on Levels 1 & 2
• Learn the signs and symbols for Stages 5-6 of the Core Vocabulary
• Improve and develop signing and symbol skills
• Learn translation skills using signs and symbols
Ideal for:
Teachers and support staff in Early Years/Foundation Stage, mainstream, partnership and specialist inclusive learning centres who support children with communication difficulties. Participants must have completed Levels 1 and 2 or the Foundation Workshop prior to attending Level 3.

All our trainers are speech and language therapists who hold national training qualifications and have extensive experience in delivering training for professionals, parents and carers in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
We know and appreciate the environment you are working in and the experiences you have on a daily basis working with children who have speech, language and communication needs.
Although professional in our approach, we like to ensure our courses are interactive and that each attendee is engaged. The majority of our training courses consist of a mixture of theory and practise, a method which allows attendees to get the best out of the learning opportunity.
