Makaton Signing for Mobile Babies/Todders (up to 2 years)

Join us for a fun and friendly course where you and your baby can learn Makaton signs together! Makaton can help babies and toddlers communicate before their words develop, making daily routines easier and boosting early language. Other skills including; attention and listening, interaction and understanding can also be supported through the use of Makaton.

What to Expect

Across the course, you’ll learn around 100 useful signs and symbols that help with everyday communication such as:

• Saying hello
• Eating and drinking
• Going out and about
• Playing and having fun

We practice the signing through songs, stories, games and play — perfect for bonding with your little one!

Course Details and Cost

• 5 sessions, up to 45 minutes long, in person at the local Family Hubs
• Please make sure you can attend all sessions before booking
• Ideally, the same parent/carer comes each week to build skills
• Spaces are very limited — a waiting list will run if full.
• This course is free.

Who Can Join?

• Parents, carers, and family members of non mobile babies
• No previous Makaton experience needed! Just bring enthusiasm to join in with the fun
• Accessibility Everyone is welcome. If you have any additional needs or require adjustments, please let us know when booking so we can support you
• Each parent/carer must book their own space.
