Come along to our taster to find out more about what Makaton can offer to support children and young people with a range of communication difficulties. These short sessions give you a general introduction into what Makaton is, who uses it and will teach you 30+ signs and symbols to get you started.
Participants receive handouts covering the vocabulary they have learned and general information regarding further Makaton training and Makaton resources.
These sessions can be a great starting point for those considering attending Makaton training in the future.
Please note: This course will be run as an online training session via MS Teams. When you book, you will receive information about how to access the training and how the session will be run.
Please note that our training courses and workshops are designed to be interactive, to ensure participants get the most from the session. With this in mind, we ask that you check to ensure that both your camera and microphone are working prior to the course.
Each person attending the training needs to purchase an individual ticket. Additional participants who have not bought a ticket are not allowed to sit and watch the training, either in or out of the camera view, and will be asked to leave.

- More than 2 weeks before the start date – no charge/full refund.
- Less than 2 weeks before the start date – full charge applies.
Transfer policy:
- You may transfer your place on a course to an alternative participant or to an alternative date at any time prior to the start date but please inform us of the change.
- Failure to attend a course will not entitle you to transfer to another course/date and neither will you be able to transfer your place to others.
