Beginners - Make a Cushion

9:15 arrival for coffee & tea

9:30 - 4pm

This 1-day cushion course will teach you the basic skills of cushion making. We will start by familiarising ourselves with the sewing machine and overlocker. You will learn how to plan, template, cut out and overlock your fabric, before inserting an invisible zip, and stitching around your fabric to create a cushion to a professional standard. Notes will be provided so that you can refresh yourself and practice when you get home.

This course has been designed for beginner sewers who may have never used a sewing machine before and aims to introduce you to sewing and allow you to develop your skills. The following day will be a course on making piped cushions if you wish to build further skills and practice what you have learnt.

Our tutor works in the workshop at Lucy Lane Fox Ltd in Chedworth, who are specialists in manufacturing bespoke handmade soft furnishings, offering their services across the UK and internationally.

Please bring 1m of fabric to make your cushion from.
