Make a pair of espadrilles with Suzie London at the historic Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre!
DATE: Sunday 9 October 2016
TIME: 1 – 4pm
VENUE: Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre, The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8 9JJ
Spend a fun afternoon making your own espadrilles, in a fabric of your choice. You’ll walk away with one completed shoe, with all the knowledge and skills to finish the second one (and many more pairs!) at home. Imagine all the fabrics you could use!
Over this 3 hour workshop you’ll master the following skills:
– Adjusting a pattern for fit
– Stitching corners and curved seams
– Pinning the upper to the sole
– Hand-stitching using blanket stitch
Suitable for complete beginners. Just bring a fat quarter of fabric (approx 50cm x 50cm). Light to medium weight plain or printed cotton or linen work best. All other materials and tools are provided.
Please let us know via email which size espadrilles you’d like to make after booking. The soles are available in EU sizes 36 – 45.
The Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre is a 1930's Town Hall in the Centre of Crouch End, just a short bus ride (W7) from Finsbury Park station.
