This workshop is free, we are asking for a £10 deposit which will secure your place and will be refunded when you arrive.
Join us for a workshop to improve and hone your fixing and woodworking skills. We'll start the day off with a theory session, fixing to walls - where we will talk through the difference between the fixings you use in solid walls and hollow walls and how to detect pipes and cables. Following a short break, we will then move onto the woodworking session: making a window box. This will involve developing skills in measuring, sawing (by hand or with a jigsaw) cutting decorative shapes, drilling & screwing.
As we're using tools, the lower age limit is 12 and children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
In collaboration with The Year of Making, Line Cut Supply will be hosting a series of inspiring talks and workshops to explore the role of women in manufacturing and industry. Each month we'll be concentrating on a theme: trades, technology, manufacturing and engineering. Based in the gallery at the Yorkshire Artspace Persistence Works building and open to the public from 11am -6pm Thursday & Friday and 11am- 5pm on Saturday, we'd love you to pop in and say hello!
