Adjustable Sterling Silver Ring - Reticulation

No experience neccesary - Suitable for total beginners :)

This is the perfect workshop if you're intrigued by jewellery making.

The process:

During this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to make an adjustable sterling silver ring, creating texture by using the reticulation method.

To start with, you will explore and practice sawing techniques on copper, you will then transfer these skills over to your sterling silver ring band.

Once you have designed the shape of your ring band, you will learn how to anneal the metal and add the organic texture through the use of flame.

All materials and tools will be provided. At the end of the day, you will take home your very own handcrafted one-of-a-kind ring – as well as a cotton pouch to keep it safe.

Additional information:

Reticulation is a technique which enables us to create beaituful ripples and ridges on the surface of the metal, by carefully controlling heat using a blow torch. I like to think of it as painting with a flame.

Attendees must be 16 years of age and above.

Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult on the same course.

Sensible, closed shoes required and no loose clothing: things can get a little messy in a jewellery making environment and whilst apron’s are provided, it’s worth bearing in mind not to wear your very best clothes!

There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat before or after the workshop. Muddy Beach Cafe, Sunshine Studio Cafe and Baileys Country Store are all close by!

Reviews on Trip Advisor :

Ellie "What an incredible day! My sister and I were lucky enough to take part in one of Sadie courses. Sadie was such a wonderful host and instantly made us feel at home in her studio. It is such a beautiful, calm space, perfect for an afternoon of crafting away and chatting to the other lovely people on the course. I was so happy with the final product and I cannot recommend the course enough. Thank you so much Sadie!"

“I’m Sadie, Cornwall’s original Sea Glass silversmith. With 13years in the industry, jewellery is my world.

I’m incredibly excited to share my experiences and to pass on the love and joy that creating your own wearable treasure can bring!

Sustainability is at the heart of my work, I’m passionate about environmentally conscious practises, removing traditional animal products from the manufacturing process and using recycled materials.

I can’t wait to help ignite the passion of future generations of makers.”

Award Winning

I am so grateful to have won the Tripadvisor's Travellers Choice Award! Placing my studio in the top 10% in the world, it's an absolute dream come true and I couldn't have done it without my wonderful students. I really do adore teaching and I can't wait to share this joy with you too!

Meet Rip!

This good boy will greet and welcome you into ‘The sea glass studio’ upon arrival..

He loves cuddles (of course) and big long snooooozes on his window perch in the sunshine. Whilst we’re busy making away, Rip enjoys hanging out the window watching the birds on the river…

Fun facts, he’s 19 months old and is named after my favourite cowboy in Yellowstone 🤠

Please let me know if you're not comfortable / allergic to dogs and I will arrange day care for him :)
