Do you enjoy making art but don't do it?

You may have done an arts course and have all the art materials you need, but you don't use them. Other commitments and responsibilities get in the way and months pass by, without you having made anything. But you know you love making art, that you get a sense of achievement and satisfaction when you create things. It gets you in a good headspace and chills you out.

How much better would you feel if for an hour and a half each week, you were engrossed in making art?

Make Art on Tuesdays is about coming together with others who are committed to developing their creative skills. We get to know each other and our individual creative style. We give positive feedback and encouragement to keep going. We are a supportive community sharing what we do and validating each other and our creative processes.

We meet over Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 7-8.30pm, to make art alongside each other. Adults of all skill levels are welcome. You just need some art materials and a willingness to have a go. Members have joined from the UK, America and Europe. Some come when they can, others attend regularly.

What we offer:

  • A short drawing exercise to warm us up.
  • A different theme each fortnight chosen by the group. You will be sent a link to a Pinterest board with images for inspiration.
  • The opportunity to work on your own projects.
  • Encouragement and inspiration to develop your creative style.
  • Music to listen to while we make. I compile and share a weekly playlist from the group’s requests.
  • Opportunities to share your work and get feedback within the session and through the WhatsApp group.
  • Small class size of eight people maximum.

What it costs:

You pay £8 to join us for one session. This is so you can see how we work and if we are the right fit for you. After the first session you pay the tutor directly for the rest of the term. People can join the group until we reach capacity, which is eight people. To make art accessible, there is a tiered pricing system dependent on income. Each session is either £12 or £8 if you are on a low income.

When is it?

The Spring term runs for 10 sessions from 13th January to 31st March. The term dates are below.

January 13th, 20th, 27th

February 3rd, 10th,

March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st

"I could make art every night on my own, but I just don't. Knowing that we are meeting focuses my mind and I am engrossed for an hour and a half. Each week I now make at least two pieces of artwork, and I have met some great people and been inspired to try out new materials and styles."
