Make Every Contact Count (MECC) Online Training
Event Information
About this Event
Did you know? In Lancashire and South Cumbria alone 3,500 deaths a year are considered preventable and 40 per cent of premature deaths are thought to be lifestyle related.
In response, local health and care organisations across the region have launched a new campaign ‘A small chat can lead to a big change’ to help encourage people to take action.
Having a quick chat with someone about what is going on in their life can be all it takes to make a big difference to their health and wellbeing.
This three hour workshop (split over two 90 minute sessions) will cover:
- What MECC is and why it's important
- How to have 'Chat to Change' conversations
- Health promotion messages
- Signposting information
Participants are required to attend both sessions to complete the course.
Course dates: April 22nd & 23rd, 2021 - 1pm - 2.30pm.
Participants will be contacted by email the week before the course with all relevant course materials and an invite to access the course online. Course will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.
