Discover more about the Plant Allies programme here.
What will the day look like?
The day will start with our regular monthly Mend With Friends from 10am until 12noon, followed by an afternoon of plant playdate walks, herbal tea tasting, and activities inspired by the last cycle of Plant Allies and Wastesmiths wider Make, Grow + Mend projects.
Our events are open to people of all genders, and backgrounds. Under 18s are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Mend With Friends
MEND WITH FRIENDS is all about sharing our mending skills and stories with one another, in a relaxed environment. This is not a taught workshop but there will be someone on-hand to share their skills with you. Even if you have never picked up a needle and thread before, we'd love you to come along and learn from the community!
We would love menders and aspiring menders of all ages and abilities to join us, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. As the activities involve sharps and small objects, this may not be suitable for very young children (although please know that small children/babies are very welcome to be with us!).
These are drop-in sessions, with basic mending materials and equipment provided.
There is no charge to take part, but to help cover our running costs, Mend With Friends operates on a donate-what-you can basis.
Sometimes people find it tricky to know what to give, so we offer some suggested donations depending on your level of financial privilege:
£5- for waged adults
£3- for low-waged adults
FREE for unwaged adults, children, and carers/support workers.
