A meet-up with Orna Ross, founder of the Alliance of Independent Authors
7.30pm, Friday 28th September 2012, Hanover Room, The Glen Mhor Hotel, 8-15 Ness Bank, Inverness, IV2 4SG: free - places limited.
If you are thinking about being an independent author and self-publishing your work and you want to explore how you can really maximise the opportunities open to independent authors, then this session is for you. This is your chance to ask Orna Ross - one of the founders of the Alliance of Independent Authors - about the Alli's work and the benefits of membership.
HI~Arts supports writers wishing to explore the options for being an 'indie' author and in self publishing their work, and we aim to support and enable high professional standards in self-publishing through the provision of advice, training and support to independent authors - and we have formed a partnership with the Alliance of Independent Authors (Alli) to promote these aims.
The Alli is a global association of indie writers that provides cutting edge, professional advice and insight to members through forums, blogs, info sheets, a help line, and has developed a unique relationship with a major international rights agency (A M Heath) with the potential for the right self-published work to be offered to the trade for translation etc.
The Alli offers regular network meetings and meet-ups for Indie authors and the first Scottish event is in Inverness.
For full details of Orna Ross's writing and work with the Alli, see: http://www.ornaross.com/
We are also very pleased to welcome to the meet-up, leading Indie author - and Inverness based writer - John Logan, whose novel, 'The Survival of Thomas Ford' is a highly acclaimed indie success on Amazon and other platforms.
