Find out more about the origins of African print and the Symbolic meanings of some patterns used for African print fabric.

About this Event

Barking and Dagenham council are celebrating Black history month by commissioning the Sew London project to Teach how to create your own Wall hanging based on African heritage and culture.

Attendees will have an insight into African Textile history through fabric printing and they will be able to create their own wall hanging. Also there will be an opportunity to contribute to an Art installation piece that will exhibited at the Barking pop up Art Gallery.

All Materials will be provided for on the day

Any type of printing can be messy therefore please come prepared but aprons will be available on the day.
