About this Event

What to bring

We like to enjoy the wilderness space as much as possible in our In the Wilds activities, and this workshop will be held outdoors, under canvas when necessary. We're dreaming of sunny days, but please prepare for all types of weather (waterproof, hat, warm clothes) Exploring the wood will take us on uneven ground so sturdy footwear, such as walking boots or wellies, is recommended.

All materials will be provided for you, but please bring a bag or basket to collect things to use for printing when you're walking around the wood. You're welcome to bring synthetic clothes/fabrics you'd like to recycle, if you have any, but this is not essential.

Covid 19 Provision

Full details are provided on our website. All risk assessments are continually updated to provide a safe environment, adhering strictly to government guidelines and social distancing. Please bring a mask.

If the government guidelines/regulations change at any time we may have to alter, postpone, or even cancel the course.

Cancellation and Refunds

Full payment is required at time of booking. Should you need to cancel your booking please refer to our Cancellation and Refunds Policy on our website homepage.

A lovely day spent celebrating the season, starting with a walk and forage around our Heydon Hill Wood venue to explore colour, pattern and shape and to gather leaves and flowers from which to make a series of fabric prints. We will be using heat transfer dyes which offer stunning, colour-fast colours and lots of exciting surprises. We'll have delicious locally-sourced artisan refreshments for you, included with your ticket.

The bunting will look beautiful in your garden or home and would be perfect for a special celebration or to add style all year round.

Our fabulous tutor, Bronwen Gwillim, is an experienced workshop leader who learned about transfer dying and using a heat press whilst undertaking an MA in Textiles at Bath Spa University. She looks forward to introducing you to this quick and effective process which is suitable for everyone, lots of fun, and no experience is required.
