Learn how to make your own Gin with foraged ingredients in this artisanal botanical beverage indulgence event! 

Presented by Andy Hamilton, author of Booze For Free, employed by the Botanist gin and tinkerer with booze for the last two decades, enjoy an afternoon with like minded people creating something that will have you the most popular Christmas Presenter giver since the Grinch changed heart, you can't beat the gift of gin. You will leave with a swing-top bottle full of Gin that you make in the workshop.

You're head will be filled with a giddy knowledge of both the plant world and the booze world as you imbibe andy's extensive knowledge of both. Expect to learn how to balance flavour to create a wild gin and we'll also go on a small foraging walk to collect ingredients in local wild landscape of #FieldBTN. Ideal, as there will be many very common plants that you'll get to know and perhaps this will help you to make gin forever more from your garden. 

Have you ever drank a gin and tonic and had a memory flash back in your mind just for an instant, the scent the taste reminding you of a walk by the river, a childhood game in the park or your Uncle Bob's back garden?  When you make your own gin you can capture your memories, the plants and herbs that are the smells of blissful afternoons with friends and loved ones. You can literarlly be drunk on nostalgia with this class for a glass that helps you to balance the flavours that go into your very own foraged gin. 

What To Bring?

Please feel free to bring along any of your own homebrew both the disaterous and the delicious and get an expert opinion on how to improve... Likewise, if you want to share your latest gin mixer creation with the group bring that along too. You might also have a plant in your garden that you know is edible that you'd love to add as a flavour, don't be shy! 

We will nip out side and pick some things, so if the forecast is sunny bring your shorts, if its a bit wet then bring your coat..

If you would like to stay and join us for the coctail evening (see below) Bring along some money – buy one get one half price to all the workshop attendents! 

Order of events?

The Foraging walk will start at 15.00 - and run til 15.30

Between 15.30 and 17.30 we will watch Andy perform the Art of Gin making and then be guided by Andy and the Old Tree brewers in a hands on - how to make our own bottle of botanical gin. Old Tree will provide labelling material to create a beautiful finished product. 

Between 17.30 and 18.30 a meal will be prepared which will be included in the workshop price. A Foraged, Nasturtium and Nettle pesto with gluten free and organic pasta 

Between 18.30 and 22.00 we will enjoy some lovingly prepared coctails, with a choice of five inspired by the flora and fauna of Brighton and Bristol, prepared for our enjoyement of this evening!

Boozey botanical beverages with Andy Hamilton and Old Tree makers will run from 18.30 until 22.00 This coctail evening is open to all and free entry.

We will be charging between £5 and £7 for the cocktails to cover expenses but all the workshop attendees will recive buy one get one free on these increible special cocktails!
