Event description
Using several types of melt and pour soaps we will make soap bars, shampoo bars, mini scrubby cubes and a 'cup-cake' soap.

About this event

Using essential oils, dried petals and herbs as well as several types of melt and pour soaps, we will make soap bars, shampoo bars, mini scrubby cubes and a 'cup-cake' soap.

You will take home all the soaps you make and the moulds so that you can make more at home. At the end of the session, melt and pour bases, essential oils, dried petals are herbs will be available for you to buy so that you can be creative at home.

Organiser of Make your own Soap and Shampoo Bars

Join Catherine Sanderson for one of her workshops and explore the interesting world of medicial herbs and plants. Learn how to make traditional balms, syrups, floral waters, oxymels, ointments and salves.

The Naturally Herbal Kitchen Workshops will show you how to use plants, roots, fruit, and wax to clean your home, do your laundry, wash your dishes, wrap your food and fragrance your home. Check out each workshop as the products will vary.

The Naturally Herbal Skin and Hair Care Workshops include hand cream, foot cream, liquid shampoo, solid shampoo bars, hair rinse, soap, and skin and lip balms. Check out each workshop as the products will vary.

The Fabulous Fragrances Workshops are always popular and smell amazing whether making solid perfume, household fragrances, candles, or soaps. Check out each workshop as the products will vary.

Herb Garden Design Workshops are held once a year to help you design your own herb garden. These workshops cover choosing a style, be it for a garden or a patio, discovering the medicinal and culinary use of herbs, and how to grow them from seeds or cuttings and planting them out. Companion planting and using a biodynamic calendar are also covered in some of the sessions.

Workshops on drying herbs and flowers, pressing plants and making your own herbarium specimen collection are also available.

Catherine is a registered Bach Flower Remedies Practitioner with a Diploma in Herbology from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh as well as RHS Horticultural Cerfiticates and ocassionaly teaches on the Herbology courses at the RBGE.
