Make Your Own Two Piece Suit 2 Day Class at Abakhan Mostyn

Master the art of wardrobe essentials in this focused two-day class where you'll create your very own two-piece suit—a timeless and versatile outfit that never goes out of style.

Join us for a weekend of sewing: Saturday 15th November 10.30am-4pm & Sunday 16th November 10.30am-4pm

Across the two days, you’ll cut, construct, and finish a coordinated set (such as a skirt or trousers with a matching top or jacket), guided by an experienced instructor. We have suggested some patterns below to bring along, or you're welcome to bring your own easy or intermediate-level two-piece suit pattern.

If you'd like to use a more advanced pattern, you're very welcome—but please note that you may not finish within the two-day timeframe.

Before class: Once you’ve chosen your pattern, please cut it to the outside line before arriving. This allows us to jump straight into fabric layout and construction, making the most of our sewing time together.

Whether you’re dressing for work, a special event, or simply building your me-made wardrobe, this class will give you the skills and confidence to create a polished, custom-fit outfit you'll be proud to wear.

Skill level : Basic sewing machine skills required

What to bring:

• 1 x Pattern (pieces to be cut outside the line) Butterick 6880 / Vogue 1642 / Butterick 5719 / Simplicity 9555 / Vogue 9274 / Vogue 1536
• Fabric as pattern requests
• Thread to match (Gutermann)
• Any notions the pattern requires, such as buttons, zips etc. (these can be bough on the day)

Janome sewing machines will be provided on the day along with a hot drink. You will also receive a 10% discount card to use in-store.

Tutor : Corrie Robinson

I was a professional dressmaker for over 20 years, working from my studio in Prestatyn, North Wales. I specialised in Bridal and Aerial wear, so from satin to stretch. I retired in 2020, so I could focus more on my teaching.

My classes are designed to pass on the skills I learnt over the years. So my students can progress in their own sewing, from beginners to advanced. I have taught with Abakhan fabrics for over 18 years now and have a passion for teaching dressmaking and sewing.

My classes are designed to be fun as well as informative, giving you as much knowledge as I can and helping to further your sewing skills. It’s all about time and practice plus a few handy cheat tips! I love dressmaking and I’m passionate about teaching, so hopefully the 2 combined gives you a great source to draw from, whether it’s making your own trousers to putting in zips.
