Make yourself (or someone else!) a tartan circle skirt

Join us for a fun day of sewing with locally-produced tartan. You will learn how to draft a circle skirt for anyone of any size (you just need a waist measurement), how to sew zip and waistband and how to hem a skirt, all on our Brother sewing machines.

We will need to order your tartan two weeks in advance, which is why we are not taking any bookings after 8th September for this class. We will be in touch with you via email about which tartan you would like to order for the class (separate charge)

We will stop for a lunch break for about half an hour. We do not provide lunch but there are loads of cafes and bakeries in Callander where you can purchase these.

Frequently asked questions

Is your venue accessible?

Yes, our venue is fully accessible. It’s on the ground floor and while the Victorian door is a bit tight for wheelchairs at 80cms, we have laid out the studio with wheelchair accessibility in mind. We also have an accessible toilet on the premises.

Is there parking?

There is free parking on the street but it’s often full. There is paid for parking just down the road at Callander Meadows, which is approximately a two minute walk away.

Can children come to this class?

This is an adult only class. The only exception is mums and babies who are breastfeeding.

Do I need to be able to sew to join this class?

Basic sewing skills are required. It’s helpful if you’ve had some experience on a sewing machine, although not absolutely necessary.
