Description
The Waiting Room hosts a Makerspace with two open workshops providing shared access to tools and machinery for making.
The facility operates on a membership subscription and is pay-what-you-can, so it's affordable to al!
If you are interested in joining we suggest you attend one of our free monthly open days or contact our workshop manager to arrange a tour (see events calendar for Open Days or find our contact details below to arrange a tour).
Before anyone is allowed to access the Makespace we have designed this one off, single day, mandatory induction that everyone must complete to gain general access
The Makerspace includes:
1. Sculpture Studio — providing shared access to tools and machinery such as a kiln, large saws, a lathe, sanders, piller drills and metal work tools.
2. Print and Textiles Studio — providing shared access to letterpress, silkscreen, a darkroom and textiles equipment such as a cutting table, sewing, weaving and knitting machines.
Notes:
Some tools may require specialist training too).
This session will be led by a Workshop Supervisor.
