Make:Shift:Do - Craft Club
Sat 29 October 2016, 10:00 – 13:00 BST
Make:Shift:Do is a festival of digital making by the Crafts Council, taking place across the UK on 28-29 October 2016.
FixHub is proud to be taking part for a second year in the Make:Shift:Do programme - this time, we'll be playing with robots!
As part of our monthly Craft Club, we will be providing the tools and materials needed for you to design and make your own ScribbleBot, an art-making robot with a mind of its own - if you like, you can take it away and give it a good home. We'll be exhibiting the work your robot creates in our gallery, as well as running some robot-themed competitions.
This workshop is aimed at children and young families - younger inventors may need an assistant :)
It takes a minimum of 30 mins to assemble your ScribbleBot, but you can spend as long as you want making it awesome!
Make:Shift:Do is an opportunity for everyone to try their hand at a new craft for the digital age, from laser-cutting and 3D-printing to smart textiles and CNC-milling. Open-source making and the rise of 3D printers has resulted in the UK witnessing a boom in new making, all fuelled by accessible new design technology and the spread of social media.
