Making AI Work for Your Business

This 2-day introductory course provides delegates with approaches and understanding of how to use and exploit data in their organisations. Delegates will be provided with an overview of the key concepts, approaches and theories in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Case studies and practical examples will be used to enable delegates to experience explore concepts such as data curation and preparation, machine learning, and information visualisation. Delegates will consider data opportunities in their organisations and be provided with awareness and knowledge of funding available to support organisations in innovative AI/data projects.

Course Team

Professor Chris Bowerman: Chris is a Professor of Data Science and his work is centred around the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in Data Science. Chris has worked across many sectors including security, the creative sector and health.

Dr. Kathy Clawson is a Senior Lecturer in Software Development. Her research includes digital image and video processing, computer vision and pattern recognition and classification. She has developed AI systems for visual perception analysis, security and medical / biomedical science.

Sam Humby is a software developer applying machine learning and data analytics for Start Energy Ltd within a Knowledge Transfer Project collaborating with the University and with support from Innovate UK.

Raul Feresteanu is a Software Engineer currently working to prevent fraud using machine learning at Unified Software within a Knowledge Transfer Project collaborating with the University and with support from Innovate UK.
