Description

Understanding and using UWL course and module amendment processes and documentation (Academic Quality Office)

Who is this workshop for?

Open to any UWL member of staff or student, this workshop will be of particular interest to academic quality leads, course leaders, module leaders and student reps. School administrators and Registry staff are also welcome.

What will I get out of this?

You will:

  • Understand how UWL course and module amendment processes relate to and draw on UK policy and guidelines
  • Understand all the steps and elements of the course and module amendment process
  • Understand key terms used in course and module amendment processes and documentation
  • Consider in depth issues related to module amendment in terms of its effect on course-coherence and student experience

What is involved in the workshop

The workshop mixes presentation and discussion. It is an opportunity for staff and students to get to grips with the processes and paperwork discussing, for instance, how much amendment is allowed in a given review cycle and what constitutes minor, moderate or significant amendment. It is also a chance to think through the rationale behind making amendments and their impact on courses as a whole.

Is there anything I need to know before I book a place?

There is no need to have any particular amendment in mind, but you are welcome to bring along ideas for changes you’d like to discuss.
