Description

This workshop designed for those interested in gaining an understanding of Intellectual Property. It will provide you with a background on types of IP, the stages of protection, and how to protect your ideas when discussing potential business opportunities with collaborators. The following specific topics will be covered:

  • UoL policy, process and support
  • IP basics to include types of IP and the Business Model Canvass and Value Proposition Tool
  • Patent process – steps, timescales, PCT, etc
  • Common IP issues and collaborative pitfalls – to focus upon the discussion of IP ownership - Lambert Decision Tree
  • Options for commercialising IP on a continuum of risk
  • COAP - to include two-stage worked example including evaluation of a funding bid
  • Lunch & clinic after the session
