Making Bread for Peace

Did you know that the origins of Mothers' Day started because women did not want their sons to be sent to war?

In 1870, Julia Ward Howe wrote a declaration that articulated the collective desire to work for Peace.

'Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn all that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience. We, women of onecountry, will be too tender of those of another country to allow our sons to b e trained to injure theirs'

If you would like to join Anam Alba in baking a simple Irish soda bread, drinking tea, and sharing with mothers and others who also pray for Peace in the world, then please do join us
