Are you:

- unsure of what sustainability careers look like or what skills you need?
- curious about how you can contribute to climate action and a more sustainable future?
Join us for our interactive workshop exploring skills and careers in sustainability, meet experts working in Thanet in sustainability focused jobs and organisations, and create your own career action plan.
The key details:
- Saturday 27 September at Margate Caves on Northdown Road
- arrive between 10.30am and 11am for tea, coffee, pastries and chats
- the workshop will kick off at 11am
- the workshop will run until 12.30pm with a light lunch until 1.15pm
- we'll then hear from a range of people working in sustainability and climate in Thanet, and you'll have the opportunity to ask them questions and get feedback
- at 2.30pm we'll visit a sustainable organisation in action (more details to come!)
- we'll wrap up at 4.30pm
What we'll cover:
Sustainability 101 with Louisa Harris, who lectures in Sustainable Business at Cambridge University's Institute of Sustainable Leadership and Nottingham University MBA's Responsible Business Week.
A mini workshop to give you an overview of key sustainability challenges and the role businesses need to play in shaping a more sustainable future and driving climate action.
Meet the experts – careers in sustainability
Hear from Thanet-based professionals who are working in sustainability, take part in a Q&A, hear more about what their work involves and how to pursue a career in sustainability.

Green Skills with Jessica Rose, Founder of Co-relate and Plastic Free Thanet
A workshop to understand green skills and the transferable skills you already have and can bring to a sustainability career and a chance to explore Business in the Community's Green Skills Roadmap.
Design your own career action plan
A practical and interactive workshop to explore how you want to make a difference in your work. Together we'll come up with an action plan including skills you want to build and practical actions to take after the workshop.
More details
- this workshop is open to anyone aged between 16–25
- there is no dress code – wear whatever you feel comfortable in and shoes you are happy to wear for a short walk
- refreshments, snacks and a light lunch will be available.
- no need to bring anything with you, we will provide pens and paper – feel free to bring your own notebook, if you like
- you're welcome to bring friends or a parent/ carer if that would make you feel more comfortable - just let us know
