The Reinvigorating Direct Payments event series is a partnership between Think Local Act Personal and the Department of Health and Social Care.
Discover how you can use Direct Payments – even when money’s tight – to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
At this online event, you will:
- Hear from a National Co–production Advisory Group member about their experience of using the limited resources of their Direct Payment to achieve their outcomes
- Hear about their experience of having this spending overseen by the local authority
- Hear from Dorset Council’s work to improve how Direct Payments work by returning to the first principles of self-directed support
- Learn about the impact on people's lives of restrictive practices and what can feel oppressive oversight
- Learn how these issues can be addressed systematically through leadership, stakeholder engagement and co-production
This event is aimed at:
- Social care practitioners undertaking assessments and creating care and support plans
- People who use Direct Payments
- Social care staff involved in providing support to Direct Payment recipients
- Commissioners
- IT, finance and legal staff in local authorities who work with social care teams promoting Direct Payments
