Discover how you can use Direct Payments – even when money’s tight – to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

At this online event, you will:

  • Hear from a National Co–production Advisory Group member about their experience of using the limited resources of their Direct Payment to achieve their outcomes
  • Hear about their experience of having this spending overseen by the local authority
  • Hear from Dorset Council’s work to improve how Direct Payments work by returning to the first principles of self-directed support
  • Learn about the impact on people's lives of restrictive practices and what can feel oppressive oversight
  • Learn how these issues can be addressed systematically through leadership, stakeholder engagement and co-production

This event is aimed at:

  • Social care practitioners undertaking assessments and creating care and support plans
  • People who use Direct Payments
  • Social care staff involved in providing support to Direct Payment recipients
  • Commissioners
