Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a brief behaviour change techniques used to nudge people towards healthier lifestyles.

This live and interactive online course, fully funded by Surrey County Council’s Public Health Department aims to increase you:


  • Knowledge of healthy lifestyle information, advice and guidance
  • Understanding of behaviour change theory and techniques
  • Ability to recognise opportunities to initiate conversations about health and wellbeing
  • Confidence to initiate conversations about health and wellbeing
  • Awareness of where to signpost people for local healthy lifestyle information and support


This course is open to staff and volunteers from NHS, local authorities (including Surrey County Council and borough and district councils), charity, community and voluntary sector organisations based within Surrey.

Your trainer will be from Surrey County Council’s Public Health Team.

This course will be held on Microsoft Teams. You will need a working and switched on camera and microphone.
