About this event
The course is designed for any frontline workers who are in a position to have short conversations with the public and use these to deliver very brief interventions that support peoples’ health and wellbeing.
The Training will cover the following 5 modules:
- What is MECC and why is it important – including the public health case for very brief interventions
- What makes for a good conversation? – interactive sharing of experience among participants, recognising what they are already doing well
- Key skill areas intrinsic to MECC conversations – review of skills and top tips
- Models and simulations – basic theory and structure of a MECC conversation, audio and video simulations (including the COM-B and the 3As/4As model)
- Resources to support you to MECC – introducing and using key online resources, such as MECC Link and local service directory resources.
The virtual 2 hour session will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. Participants will receive joining details prior to their booked session.
