Description
Make Every Contact Count is a FREE training programme designed to support staff to encourage positive changes in behaviour and lifestyle for local residents.
The training is aimed at staff who have day-to-day contact with local people and will add to their continued professional development (CPD). The main focus of the training is to give staff the skills to have conversations with people about their health.
Conversation topics that will be covered in training include: Alcohol, smoking, mental health, physical activity and nutrition.
By attending this training session, staff will:
- get an understanding of what MECC is all about and the positive impact it can have on health and wellbeing
- learn a simple MECC technique to help people make healthier lifestyle changes
- be able to use interactions with people as an opportunity to identify an issue and encourage behaviour change
- receive information on signposting to other local services for support.
Time commitment: One half day workshop, with supplementary e-learning.
