Event description

Description

Celebrating boys

Statistics show that boys often achieve at a slower academic rate than girls in school. Why is this the case? If we want to celebrate and support boys to reach their potential, we need to understand what boys really need.

This workshop will explore the emotional and social needs of boys linked to their physiological and psychological development. It will help educators to develop understandings which will enable them to embrace needs and learning styles of boys to help them to enjoy and achieve in their educational journey. The workshop will be a combination of theory and practice.

Participants will get:

  • 10 top tips for including boys needs in everyday use in the classroom.
  • Links to relevant articles and publications on the subject.
  • A breakdown of boys development stages to support the teaching of boys.
  • Peer learning discussions with other participants.
  • A free bag of materials to take away.

Who is it for?

Headteachers, educators, teaching assistants, early year's professionals, parents.
