About this event

Making It Happen: Community Power in Action

Discover how ABCD turns local ideas into real change - right here in Dowsborough.

Building on our recent session with the Jeder Institute, this event spotlights what community-led action can achieve. We’re joined by Angie Greany from Making It Happen (East Sussex) https://making-it-happen.org.uk/ . Making it Happen was a five-year programme that supported residents across 13 areas to turn ideas into action with coaching, connections and resident-led funding from £500–£15,000.

An independent evaluation of Making it Happen by Collaborate CIC found that people gained confidence, capability and control, experienced improved wellbeing, and strengthened community spirit with more collaboration, cross-pollination and resource-sharing between local groups.
