Learn the basics of making clothes and create something unique for that special child in your life.
Led by sewing blogger, Alison Drever, this is a weekend introduction to making clothes, using kids clothing as your starting point. The workshop is intended to equip you with confidence and a basic skill set that you can develop and apply to a range of projects.
Learn how to use a sewing machine and work with paper patterns. Practice basic techniques, common to children's clothing, such as elasticated waistbands, snap fasteners, and making bias binding. Choose a pattern from our garment selection below and create something truly unique in a fabric and style of your choice.
Choosing A Pattern
Aa part of the booking process you'll be asked to select a garment to make on this course. We have 3 options available.
- A basic set of sewing skills; a basic understanding of how to make clothes; and the confidence to go on and try more.
- An item of kids clothing made by you, in the fabric of your choice (some students may have time to move on to a second garment).
- A Making Clothes for Beginners e-book for future reference.
