“Making markets work well for consumers, businesses and the UK economy: the evolution of the Competition and Markets Authority”
David Currie is the Chairman of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which was established on 1 October 2013 and assumed its full functions and powers on 1 April 2014. He is also Governor of the Institute for Government, Member of the Board of the Dubai Financial Services Authority and is on the cross benches in the House of Lords.
Previous career highlights include Founding Chairman of Ofcom and Dean at Cass Business School. Between 1972-1988, David was Lecturer, Reader and Professor of Economics at Queen Mary, and Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies, and is an Honorary Fellow of Queen Mary.
