About this event

Making ink from crushed oak galls, this online workshop will give participants the opportunity to make their own natural ink based on traditional medieval recipes. After signing up for this event, you will receive a special ink making kit through the post. The excercise will also require standard kitchen equipment. The instructional video will be posted on YouTube at the scheduled time, allowing participants to follow at their own pace. The event will have an online twitter presence, to allow participants to ask questions and share their progress.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities, taking place 12–22 November. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
