Making Participation Work is holding a practitioner’s conference on 6th July 2021
About this event
As part of the DfE funded Making Participation Work programme, the Council for Disabled Children is delivering a practitioner’s conference on 6th July 2021 bringing together participation, co-production and engagement practitioners and strategic managers to discuss how SEND youth voice and engagement plays a role in developing quality local area provision.
Making Participation Work is delivering learning events for professionals and practitioners working in designing and delivering participation and co-production at a strategic level across children and young people’s health, education and social care.
Through a variety of workshops and plenary sessions participants will gain a greater understanding of children and young people with SEND the following areas:
- Working with young people to develop strategic outcomes
- Understanding the social care review and young people’s role within it
- The role of parent carer forums in supporting youth voice and engagement
- Developing online participation delivery methods and blended approaches
- Raising minimum standards for strategic participation and co-production
- Understanding how young people can lead co-production.
The event will be interactive, all attendees will be asked to contribute via discussion and online whiteboards and tools.
The event will be held via Zoom.

Registration closes on 22nd June 2021. Once workshops are confirmed you will be emailed a google form asking you to sign up to two workshops. It is essential you complete this form before 22nd June 2021 to be allocated to workshops.
