About this event

Making Poetry in Nature's Voice with Ali Warner

Join voice & body practitioner & social arts facilitator Ali Warner will guide us through a series of embodied creative practices designed to help us move into closer, resonant relationship with the trees & plants of Crescent Park and discover what they might have to say through our own movements & vocal sounds.

Practices in the workshop will include co-created circle poems, emergent reflective haikus, nature-centred creative expression and a spontaneous collective vocal jam, and can all be engaged with in your own way with adaptable options for participation.

Come and be inspired by nature, inspired by each other, and inspired by yourself - and have the chance to creatively express it! Looking forward to making nature poetry in the park together with many of you on the day.

Ali Warner is a voice & body practitioner, facilitator and host who seeks to create warm, inviting spaces where differing voices can be heard. She works in communities, organisations and public life holding gatherings & processes that aim to bring forward a collective energy for change. Her essential connection is to nature and all the endless, playful, emergent, beautiful, wild ways our natural world recreates itself & inspires us all.

Poetry in the Park is a celebration of our small green spaces. On September 13th 2025 we are welcoming everyone to come explore Crescent Gardens Park and discover the link between parks and poetry. With family fun activities, workshops, and a poetry reading session, we are sure this day will leave you inspired.

The NI Mental Health Arts Festival is proud to bring you this event. We aim to challenge the stigma associated with mental health by using art as a catalyst for change. We believe it is important to highlight the role nature and the arts play in creating positive mental health.

The event will take place in the Crescent Garden Park which is located between Botanic Avenue and the lower part of University Road, in South Belfast.
