Making Scotland More Active: Golden Nuggets of learning about how to get pe...
Wed 29 March 2017, 09:30 – 15:30 BST
On the 29th March 2017 Spirit, Scottish Government and their Legacy 2014 Physical Activity Fund (the Fund) partners will invite a range of relevant stakeholders to a learning event to hear golden nuggets of learning about hoe you get people active.
In August 2015, Spirit of 2012 in partnership with the Scottish Government launched the Legacy 2014 Physical Activity Fund. 11 local partners from across Scotland were selected to scale up activities that deliver outcomes related to the Scottish Government’s Active Scotland Outcomes Framework, specifically outcomes 1 and 2:
We encourage and enable the inactive to be more active
We encourage and enable the active to stay active throughout life
Key to the Fund was learning and sharing what works and what does not work in helping inactive to be more active.
The event will showcase learning from the 11 partners from across Scotland. There will be an opportunity to learn directly through networking as well as hear how the results will impact future policy across health and social care and how phase 2 of the Fund will be rolled out.
Speakers will include representatives from the local partners themselves, as well as Sir Harry Burns, University of Strathclyde, and the Minister for Public Health and Sport, Aileen Campbell MSP.
