Description

Join us for our seminar explaining HM Revenue and Customs’ Making Tax Digital (MTD).

From 1st April 2019, VAT-registered businesses with a turnover above £85,000 will have to keep digital records and file their VAT return using MTD compliant software. If you currently prepare your VAT returns by hand or on a computer spreadsheet you will need to make changes.

The event will cover:

  • What is Making Tax Digital for VAT?

  • Who will it impact and when

  • Practical tips to prepare your small business

This event is for businesses with a turnover above the VAT threshold and all unincorporated businesses, partnerships or charities. You will have to start keeping digital records and submit digital VAT returns electronically via new API-Enabled products (meaning a set of clearly defined methods of communications between various software products) and NOT via VAT online from your first VAT return period on or after 1st April 2019.

That means if you are currently using desktop software like Sage or QuickBooks, running your business via an Excel spreadsheet or perhaps not even keeping digital records at all, you should be making the switch to a cloud-based platform and the time to do it is now.

Fortunately it's not all doom and gloom! MTD is an opportunity for you to spruce up your accounts systems and give yourself:

  • up to date information

  • clarity on your business performance

  • better control of your business finances

And although we can't afford to be complacent, there's still time to get things in order if we act now.

Whilst essential for businesses with turnover over the VAT registration threshold, there are also lessons to be learned for other businesses that may be impacted in the future.

Here is an agenda for the event:

  • 12.00 pm – 12.30 pm – Registration
  • 12.30 pm – 13.30 pm – Presentation
  • 13.30 am – 14.00 pm – Q&A session
