Would benefit: all researchers in media, humanities or social science subjects, but especially ECRs, who wish to learn more about improving their research profile

Primarily aimed at PhD candidates and Early Career Researchers within Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, although it will also be of interest to established Lecturers who would like to learn more about publishing their work.
This discussion based workshop will consider the many challenges, joys and pitfalls that await us when we enter the world of publishing, including: Why publish? How to publish your PhD; finding your voice; how REF works and what to publish to ensure REF submission; writing textbooks; editing journal special issues; choosing a publisher; negotiating a publishing contract and writing a proposal; how to deal with rejection.
