Description

Discover how your business can benefit from the HEFCW funded Strategic Insight Programme (SIP). Funding is available for collaborative projects in the areas of Compound Semiconductor (Engineering, Security, Automotive, Healthcare Technology and Aerospace), Creative Industries and Design.

Leah Jones, Strategic Insight Programme (SIP) Manager will be running a series of 1:1 drop-ins from USW Exchange, Newport for local SMEs to explore how they could make the most of this funded programme, linking industry to expertise across our HE and FE partners.

What is a SIP?

A HEFCW funded collaborative programme encouraging innovation and facilitating interaction between HE (Higher Education), FE (Further Education) and industry partners. It allows partners to establish strategic links with one another. This is facilitated through funding for short term placement opportunities aimed at developing new cross sector relationships, encouraging development of strategically beneficial collaborative projects in a supportive environment.

The Benefits

The placements should be mutually beneficial to both partners involved and have the potential to develop future collaborative activities. More specifically, SIPs can:

• Stimulate innovation to develop ideas
• Provide a fresh perspective on a strand of work
• Build the foundations of long term strategic partnerships
• Give access to wider funding opportunities
• Help investigate how working collaboratively can be beneficial for future work
• Contribute to graduate employability by feeding back ‘real world’ experience into the student learning

Eligibility

Your placement needs to be for new work and not in addition to work or for work that has already taken place. Can’t be used for curriculum/module development or consultancy but may be used to inform curriculum
development.

If you have an idea for a potential project in one of the three funded areas above, book now to meet with Leah & explore if SIPs funding is available to make it a reality!

Dylai’r lleoliadau fod yr un mor fuddiol i’r ddau bartner sydd ynghlwm ac arwain at botensial ar gyfer
