Do you have a ‘DSLR’ camera?
Unsure of all those dials, buttons and menus?
Looking to improve your understanding and raise your photography to the next level?
Then this is the workshop for you...
- Learn how to use your camera, in a supportive and friendly atmosphere
- Benefit from the expert instruction of an experienced photographer/teacher
- Move off ‘Auto’ - Confidently take control
About the Workshop
'DSLR' style cameras offer fantastic image quality and versitility, but as a new user it is easy to become bogged down by the complexity of the settings and functions available. The temptation is to simply switch the camera to full 'Auto' and hope for the best. But does this give the best results? Are you really in control?
In this workshop you will be introduced to the fundamental principles of the camera before being guided through key functions including;
- Exposure Modes
- Apertures/Shutter speeds
Demonstration/instruction will be followed by guided practical tasks designed to consolidate your learning. Throughout the workshop there will also be opportunity for discussion and individual guidance, helping you get to grips with your camera and improve your creative image making.
Please note: To ensure that everyone receives individual support during the session, this workshop is limited to a maximum of 10 places.
About the Venue
Situated 4 miles south of Petersfield within the beautiful South Downs National Park, Queen Elizabeth Country Park covers some 1400 acres and is open daily. The workshop itself will take place in the comfort of the theatre within the visitor centre, extending outside to complete practical tasks.
Additional facilities include a cafe where refreshments may be purchased.
If travelling by car you will need to purchase a 'pay and display' parking ticket upon arrival (cost £3.50). This ticket allows you to remain within the park for the rest of the day. Why not stay on after the workshop, explore the park and practice your newly acquired camera skills.
To complete the tasks covered in this workshop you will need a camera which offers some degree of manual control. This might be an advanced compact/bridge camera, a mirrorless (e.g. Panasonic G series, Sony NEX, etc.), or a DSLR. If you are unsure as to the suitability of your camera, or if fact you have any other questions about this workshop, please contact Duncan and he will be very happy to advise.
Cancellations up to 1 week prior to the event will be refunded in full, minus a cancellation/adminstration fee of £2.75 per ticket.
Cancellations made less that 7 days prior will not be refunded unless the ticket is resold.
Should for any reason the event be cancelled by the organiser, refunds will be in full.
