Making the Most of your Museum Storage Space
Have you ever found yourself asking ‘where are we going to put all this stuff?’ Collections overflowing in your store and objects bursting out of the seams? You are not alone. Storage for ever expanding collections is a growing concern in the museum sector. So, what can be done?
The South East Museum Development Programme will be hosting an event looking at the issues that affect museums and their storage spaces, as well as talks about how to make the most of the space you have.
The day will feature case studies from museums who have undertaken storage projects, and presentations from companies who have creative solutions to offer. The day will be rounded off by a session on how to write a great South East Museum Development Programme Development Grant application, which might help you to improve your storage situation.
A buffet lunch will be provided. If you have dietary requirements, please email the MDO on email@example.com.
The museum is situated within the Castle Quay Shopping Centre. You can enter the building from the front through the shopping centre, or from the rear where the car parking is. If you enter from the car park side, cross over the bridge gallery and report to the reception.
Car parking is available at the rear of the museum, but be aware that there are short and long stay pay and display car parks: http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/spiceball_north/ox16/banbury/?arriving=201609281600&leaving=201609281800
Alternatively, Banbury Train Station is only a short walk from the Museum: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Banbury+Museum+Trust,+Castle+Quay+Shopping+Centre,+Spiceball+Park+Road,+Banbury+OX16+2PQ,+United+Kingdom/Banburyfirstname.lastname@example.org,-1.3329858,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x48772649df14a567:0xf80302df49b2ece6!2m2!1d-1.3334743!2d52.0637872!1m5!1m1!1s0x4877264b8d0d62db:0x949ba0f48663d4fb!2m2!1d-1.32812!2d52.06032
