About this event

The Sea Scotland team is delighted to announce the third edition of our exclusive youth event!

“Making Waves: Sea Scotland Youth Voices” is an event dedicated to people aged 18 – 30. It provides a key platform for young people to share ideas, learn from diverse experiences, and actively contribute to sustainable solutions for the challenges facing Scotland’s seas.

Delivered in partnership with Young Sea Changers Scotland (YSCS), the 2025 sessions will equip young participants with the skills and confidence to engage in the Sea Scotland 2025 Ocean Hustings.

We will deliver one online and one in-person sessions focusing on the 2026 Holyrood elections, effective engagement with decision-makers, and YSCS Youth Manifesto.

Please note that taking part in the in-person youth session does NOT automatically reserve you a ticket for the Sea Scotland 2025 Hustings. If you wish to attend the Hustings, you will need to book a separate ticket.

We aim to make Sea Scotland as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you have questions or accessibility requests, please direct all correspondence to Leigh Abbott, the EDI Officer at leigh@scotlink.org.

In person Session – 6th October at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute

Join the Sea Scotland team to reflect on YSCS Youth Manifesto, and prepare for the Sea Scotland 2025 Ocean Hustings!

Delivered in partnership with Young Sea Changers Scotland (YSCS), this session will be a chance to discuss and reflect on the YSCS ‘Youth Manifesto for Scotland’s Seas’ and their marine priorities. Sea Scotland Youth Voices 2025 will also help young participants to make the most of their hustings and conference experience.

Participant to the in-person session will have the opportunity to engage with Claudia Beamish, chair of the Sea Scotland 2025 Ocean Hustings.

Claudia is a former Scottish Labour Co-operative politician who served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for South Scotland from 2011 to 2021. Claudia currently serves as YSCS Chair and is a Scottish Environment LINK Honorary Fellow.

We hope to invite MSPS along to part of this session.
